Mav6 participated in a NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) led Innovation Hub Discovery Event on 13-15 June 2012 in Norfolk, VA to demo an early prototype of what we refer to as the “Defenstigram” app – a simple insight collection app that allows users to tag content using popular social networking services like Twitter and Instagram and publish these insights to an ecosystem of digital objects (EdgeFuse) focusing on defense innovation. Per the linked information sheet (edge fuse v1), EdgeFuse is an online platform that facilitates idea aggregation, discovery, and synthesis to solve the “wicked” problems in defense and security. It is being built to increase the innovation velocity in defense by capturing the dynamic problems encountered by edgefighters in today’s complex threat environment and aligning these problems with a rich and diverse solution space that draws on conventional and unconventional sources of defense technology. In the not-too-distant future, we will be releasing the EdgeFuse “Sandbox” app, which will allow users to input, organize, and connect digital content (problems, insights, solutions, etc.) to create and execute application-focused development projects.
