November. What on earth is taking them so long? Didn’t they have it inflated last fall? It’s almost as if they messed up badly on something and had to go back and alter the design, then do it all over again.
You got the date wrong on this one, the article is from 14 Oct 2011 !
Right. The article is about how the LEMV first flight had slipped 3-months to Nov 2011.
Even though this article is from 2011, the thing has been delayed so long I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it actually DOES take off finally in November. Of 2036.
Well, it’s official, the LEMV has flown today. As of this writing, only one video has surfaced on YouTube. There was also a small blurb about it- without any actual pictures- on AviationWeek’s website.
I’m surprised at its appearance. It looks much less ungainly and weirdly-proportioned than in the computer graphics, and instead appears to have more graceful lines in real life.
